MONSTERS OF ART

" IN THE LONG HISTORY OF HUMANKIND (AND ANIMAL KIND, TOO ) THOSE WHO LEARNED TO COLLABORATE AND IMPROVISE MOST EFFECTIVELY HAVE PREVAILED" - CHARLES DARWIN

Yesterday I sent away the last book in the collaborative altered book round robin that I have been a part of, the last two years. The last theme I had to interpret in my own way, was "Colors" by Ro Bruhn. Anyone that is familiar with her wonderful work, knows that she chose a perfect theme.

There were 15 of us. I will receive my own book soon and will be able to see everyones interpretation of my theme and will then share some of the work that went into it. My theme was "Face It". I  have very mixed feelings about the whole thing. Happy to get my own book back and see everyones creative work. I will really miss getting that package each month and joyfully opening up what seemed like a huge surprise gift.

These photos are some peeks of my work in Ro's book.

This quote by Darwin really got to the heart of how I feel , when I work with others on a project. It's a wonderful feeling.

Another perk of collaboration, is meeting others. Judy (also a part of the ABRR group) and I actually met before this ABRR  but I feel like our connection helped link me to the others.

While she was here recently, we met in NYC and  we arranged a meeting with Seth from the "Altered Page" .  We had a great dinner together and Seth was kind enough to "gift' us not only with his presence but with presents!!!  When we walked out of the restaurant we saw this amazing New York wall art. There are so many of you out there that I would love to pose under this painting.........collaborators, bloggers....... Seth prefers to remain hidden at this point, in case you were wondering..

We are all MONSTERS OF ART!!!!!WOOOOOOO
